OXFORD ESSAY CONTEST

The Oxford Essay Competition is restricted to students ages 16 and above. The student must be age 16 by the start of the Oxford Rowing Academy courses (JULY 2025).

The general rules of the competition include:

• Essays may not exceed the word count of 1,500
• Essays must be an original work of the author, and sources must be cited. Evidences of plagiarism will result in the student's disqualification
• We mark papers according the university standards, and full scholarships are very rare.
• The deadline for the essay submission is 15 NOVEMBER 2024
• Students must pay a refundable deposit of £500.00 before his/her essay will be marked.

If you are offered a place on the course and a possible scholarship:

• All UK student visas are the responsibility of the student
• All admitted students must take both PPE (Politics, Philosophy & Economics) and Business Leadership & Entrepreneurship.
• Rowing VIII's is a tradition at Oxford that builds character, strength, discipline and teamwork. Experience is NOT a preprequsitie - we will teach you to row during your time in Oxford. If you have rowed before, we will match you with other experienced rowers.
• All students are required to complete an "Oxford Essay" by the end of the two-week course in August.
